Acknowledgment of Farm Environment & Activities

I understand that K2 Acres Farm School operates on a working farm where participants may take part in activities including, but not limited to:

• Cooking and food preparation
• Gardening and outdoor activities
• Craft activities
• Interaction with farm animals including birds, rabbits, goats, dogs, pigs, and other livestock

I understand that farms contain inherent risks including uneven ground, tools, natural hazards, weather conditions, insects, falling limbs or trees, and unpredictable animal behavior.

Assumption of Risk

I voluntarily allow my child(ren) and/or myself to participate in activities at K2 Acres Farm School and acknowledge that participation in farm activities involves risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, or property damage that may occur while on the property or participating in activities.

Animal Interaction & Hand Washing Policy

I understand that contact with animals may expose participants to germs that could cause illness.

Participants agree to follow farm safety procedures which include:

• Washing hands with soap and water after touching animals
• Following instructions provided by farm staff regarding animal interaction
• Not feeding or handling animals unless directed by staff

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child(ren) and ensuring these safety procedures are followed.

Parent Supervision

Parents or guardians are required to remain present during classes and are responsible for supervising their child(ren) at all times.

Release of Liability & Hold Harmless Agreement

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and agree to hold harmless K2 Acres Farm School, its owners, family members, employees, volunteers, and property owners from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising from participation in farm activities or presence on the property.

This release includes but is not limited to injuries, illness, accidents, animal-related incidents, environmental hazards, or property damage.

California Civil Code Section 1542 Waiver

I understand that this release extends to claims that I do not know or suspect to exist at the time of signing.

I expressly waive the protections of California Civil Code Section 1542, which states:

"A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in their favor at the time of executing the release, and that if known by them would have materially affected their settlement with the debtor."

Photography & Media Release

As a condition of participation, I grant permission to K2 Acres Farm School to photograph or record participants during classes and activities.

These images or recordings may be used for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes including social media, website content, printed materials, and other media without compensation.

Ongoing Participation Agreement

This waiver applies to all visits, classes, workshops, and activities at K2 Acres Farm School during the current calendar year, unless revoked in writing by the parent or guardian.
