Each month, we put out 4 new Farm School kits filled with hands-on learning, science, history, and real-life skills.

As summer gardens begin to slow and cooler days approach, families have traditionally turned their attention to preserving the harvest and preparing for the changing seasons. One time-honored tradition is making fire cider—a tangy vinegar infusion made with herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables that have been used in folk traditions for generations.
In this hands-on project, your family will layer dried herbs, spices, and botanicals into a jar, add apple cider vinegar at home, and watch as the flavors and aromas slowly infuse over the coming weeks.
