What makes a gummy... gummy?
In this Farm School kit, kids will make their own gummy worms while investigating the science that turns a liquid into a squishy solid. We’ll learn what gelatin actually is, how it works, why temperature matters and what’s happening as a liquid becomes a gel.
We’ll also discover why some fresh fruits can keep gelatin from setting and experiment with the surprising enzymes responsible.
And because this is Farm School, we can’t make worms without talking about the REAL ones! We’ll take a quick trip underground to meet earthworms and find out why these wiggly little creatures are so helpful in our gardens and soil.
Recommended for ages 7–14. Younger children can participate with adult help.
Your kit includes a reusable silicone gummy worm mold, gelatin, hands-on activities and printed learning materials. Families will provide juice and honey.
